SUMMARY

Ionic Materials is a start-up company developing innovative electrochemical materials and processes based on a novel polymer technology platform.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated facilities technician. The ideal candidate would thrive in a fast-paced, problem-solving, entrepreneurial environment. The position reports to the Facilities Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required
  • Trade-school (i.e. machine shop, electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is desired
  • Licensed electrician (class B or above) is desired
  • Experience in preventative maintenance admin
  • Minimum 5 years in maintenance role
  • Ability to operate equipment like lathe and milling machine is desired
  • Ability to interpret engineering schematics and dimension objects in CAD and or Solid Works program is desired

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to monitor and maintain building infrastructure and equipment for: R&D, development, and manufacturing line. Primary goal is to eliminate downtime and maximize performance reliability and life span of equipment and systems i.e.: compressors, glycol cooling, process gas, process water, HVAC, condensers, dehumidifiers, etc.
  • Performs hands on maintenance and repairs as required on mechanical systems.
  • Works to perform predictive maintenance analysis on equipment and systems (i.e. checking oil and measuring vibration)
  • Works to provide input and feedback on future equipment selection, infrastructure allocation and performance standards.
  • Executes initial install and turn up of equipment as well as operate equipment as stand-in when required.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
